Vigil for Iraq, Poetry and Choral Music (Oct 2009) An evening concert of music and poetry by local artists honoring the dead, the wounded, the grieving, and the dispossessed. The show will feature two new choral works Prayer for Iraq by David Rounds and Three Fingers of Light by David Smith. In each case the lyrics were co-written in collaboration with fine poets: David Smith-Ferri & David Rounds, and Theresa Whitehill & David Smith. The Ukiah Valley Madrigal Singers will be singing, and Benj Thomas will narrate. Clovice Lewis, Jeff Ives and Burton Segall will play the viola, cello and bass in Three Fingers of Light. David Smith-Ferri and Theresa Whitehill will read as well.
